The NextWomen Open Trading at NYSE Euronext For International Women’s Day
On Friday 8th March NYSE Euronext celebrated International Women’s Day with bell ringings and conferences across its global markets to highlight the contributions women have made in entrepreneurial, social, economic, financial and philanthropic arenas.
In honor of International Women’s Day, trading at NYSE Euronext Amsterdam was opened by Simone Brummelhuis, founder and publisher of The Next Women - Business Media, and initiator ofthe TheNextWomen100, the list of the 100 most important business women in the Netherlands.
At NYSE Euronext locations worldwide, female leaders and senior executives representing different organizations joined the opening or closing of the markets. Simone Brummelhuis sounded the opening gong in Amsterdam to mark the annual launch of the NextWomen100, together with a large group of Dutch business women who form part of the list.
The NextWomen100 consists of the most important female entrepreneurs in the Netherlands: women who run their own businesses with a substantial shareholding and turnover of millions of euros, who employ between 5 and 1,000 people and who are role models for budding entrepreneurs. ABN Amro, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and FD Media Group are among the partners of TheNextWomen100.
Anne Louise van Lynden van Sandenburg, Head of Listings for the Netherlands at NYSE Euronext Amsterdam said: “International Women’s Day celebrates the collective efforts and the tremendous power and resources that women contribute to global initiatives every day. It’s a great honor to welcome our guests of the NextWomen100, representing the leading business women in the Netherlands. It’s very inspiring to have so many great examples of successful entrepreneurship gathered here at the Amsterdam exchange of NYSE Euronext.”
