Happy & Healthy Masterclass

New year, new resolutions, new business! To help our members keep growing their company in a healthy manner, the first “Happy & Healthy Masterclass” will take place today. Starting the masterclass in January, when the year is still new, the motivation is high and all goals are set. The speakers of today’s masterclass are: Ingrid Valks (The power of time off), Mascha Mooy (Bye Bye Burnout) and Nora Coers (Ayurveda4me). We’ve invited these three inspiring women for a “Happy & Healthy” Q&A.

Q&A with… Ingrid Valks

After 20+ years as an entrepreneur in communication, connecting people with brands and organizations worldwide, Ingrid Valks currently focuses on connecting people with themselves and their communities with her online business the power of time off.

What will your masterclass be about?
My workshop will mainly be about female leadership empowerment. But also about vitalizing people and organizations and the importance of developing new human skills.

What milestones have you reached in 2018?
In 2018 I ended my sabbatical leave and started a new company thepoweroftimeoff.com. I facilitated some successful retreats in nature and many boardroom yoga and coaching sessions that were all rated a 9 out of 10 by the attendees.

What are the most valuable lessons you’ve learnt in 2018?
On of my most valuable lesson learnt in 2018 was: go with the flow! In both my personal and my professional life. Live from your heart and follow where it takes you.

What do you hope to achieve in 2019?
In 2019 I hope to build a community of entrepreneurs, athletes and high performers  who participate in our leadership retreats and coaching sessions for personal growth and mindful organizations.

What’s your best advice for a “happy & healthy” 2019?
Take control of your personal and professional life. We do not work too hard; we do not recharge enough. My advice for 2019 is to plan and budget time off. I invite you to book the retreat in Sri Lanka we offer to the community of the next women from 3 until 10 November. If you can manage, we recommend to schedule a two week retreat with Ayurveda from 27 October until 10 November.

Q&A with… Mascha Mooy

Mascha Mooy is a consultant, speaker and author. With a no-nonsense mentality she tackles problems at the core. Her specializations are burn-outs, leadership and successful entrepreneurship. All of these strengths come together in her business Bye Bye Burnout.

What will your masterclass be about?
The masterclass I will be giving today will be all about stress prevention and how one can recognize and tackle the signals of a burnout in an early-stage.

What milestones have you reached in 2018?
In 2018 I was lucky enough to win the Piper Heidsieck Leading Ladies Award, definitely a big milestone for me. Besides that, the documentary that I was featured in as an entrepreneur for NPO/PowNed was a true achievement.

What are the most valuable lessons you’ve learnt in 2018?
It’s all about financials! The most valuable lesson I’ve learnt in 2018 is to do research on what you spend your money on beforehand, and to research the outcome of that expenses as well.

What do you hope to achieve in 2019?
I would be very happy to reach the turnover I have set as a goal in 2019. Besides that I would like to become the preferred supplier for 5 big corporates.

What’s your best advice for a “happy & healthy” 2019?
Listen to your heart and body and, every now and then, release your brains and set them on “energy-saving” mode.

Q&A with… Nora Coers

Nora Coers spent over 20 years in business as well – as a stockbroker in Amsterdam and New York. Nora switched to empowering others to become the best they can be through Ayurveda in her company Ayurveda4me.

What will your masterclass be about?
Health, without it we’re powerless to achieve the four goals in life. In ancient times, the Indus Valley Civilization, grown rich on trade, had the leisure to philosophize about happiness. What is the mankind’s heaviest ball and chain, stopping us from achieving what we want in life? Ayurveda therefore offers us the gift of perfect health for each phase of life, allowing us to fulfill our destiny.

Which milestones have you reached in 2018?
I became a partner in Surya Inc., Los Angeles, arguably North-America’s best-known and one of its oldest Ayurvedic centers. Located in Pacific Palisades, it started in founder Martha Soffer’s spare bedroom. It soon became so popular that she had to ask her son to move into a yurt in the garden. Now she and her husband are living in the yurt.

What are the most valuable lessons you’ve learnt in 2018?
In 2018, for the first time, I was seriously ill due to bacteria contracted in India. I realize that I’ve been taking my excellent health for granted. It really brought home the lesson I’ve been teaching all this time, everything starts with health.

What do you hope to achieve in 2019?
This year, I’ll be spending my time in LA, looking for funding to take Ayurvedic centre Surya to the next level. Ayurveda has wonderful products which deliver what they promise: for example skin creams which help age-spots disappear. It’s time to start producing these on a larger scale, older women especially are clamouring for products to help us look the way we still feel. I’d like to end the year with the production of a Surya brand of Ayurvedic skin care.

What’s your best advice for a “happy & healthy” 2019?
Don’t take your health for granted. Work on it daily, in tiny steps.
