From Woman to Watch to New CEO of Time Inc.: Laura Lang
This is the new CEO of publisher Time Inc: Laura Lang, as announced by Wall Street Journal. She will be leading the magazine-publishing division of Time inc.
Currently she is CEO of Digitas, owned by the giant Publicis, and through that she leads the largest digital agency in the world with over 3000 employees in 32 offices across 19 countries and is a member of the Publicis Groupe executive committee and the VivaKi board of directors.
Since taking the helm in 2007, the agency has achieved the two best years of new business growth in its history, adding more than 90 new clients worldwide in 2009.
Lang was raised in Warwick, Rhode Island. She graduated from Tufts University and went on to get her MBA in finance from Wharton School of Business. After that, she served as president at Marketing Corp. of America, where she did strategic consulting for clients in the retail, electronics and information, entertainment, travel, and gaming industries.
