Spotlight on Tech Entrepreneurs: Xochi Birch, ex-Bebo and Co-founder Monkey Inferno

Last month's Inspire Conference brought together some of the most brilliant minds in Technology, Creativity and Entrepreneurship from across the world.

The NextWomen's Project Manager Elizabeth Ging was there and met with several leading female tech founders and executives, including Xochi Birch. Xochi and Michael Birch founded Monkey Inferno after selling Bebo to AOL for $850m. Monkey Inferno is a personal incubator where the team develops its own ideas into successful businesses.

Here's what Xochi had to say:

Q: What stage is the company at?
A: It is at the pre-launch stage.

Q: What would you have done differently or earlier if given the opportunity?
A: For my previous companies, hiring slowly therefore ensuring that each member is a value to the company.

Q: Are there any immediate needs for the company?
A: I need tech staff, a front end developer and a graphic designer.

Q: What is your advice for other female entrepreneurs?

A: My advice would be don’t be intimidated by men in the industry. Women tend to be ‘I think’ whereas men are ‘I do’. Be assertive and persistent.
