Spanish Tech Incubator Programme Calling Female Entrepreneurs
LinktoStart, launched two years ago in Spain by INLEA Foundation , is a free training and advisory programme for entrepreneurs developping startups in the tech and web spaces, in Spain or anywhere in the World (training is done via webex, in Spanish). So, not surprisingly, our Spanish media partners Ellas 2.0 have decided to join forces with this initiative to increase entrepreneurship in the technology sector, especially among women.
Few women in the Spanish technology startup scene
According to a report published in May 2010 and developed by the University of Cadiz, entitled "Women and the entrepreneurial challenge in Spain" , only 1.8% of women who started a business in 2009 in Spain did so with technology-based projects. To bridge this gap, Ellas 2.0 and linktoStart have joined forces to increase visibility of projects and link them with other major developers such as MicroBank, the office of the Caixa bank, Cisco, Microsoft and Technova Barcelona; maximising the networking potential through collaborating institutions; providing international support by the group INLEA in California; and expanding knowledge through a complete founder training process.
With this agreement, both entities cooperate closely to provide support from validation of their idea to look best sources of funding, increasing self-confidence and risk tolerance for women in their adventure as a new technology entrepreneur.
