Speedy Interview with the Guys behind Miss Bimbo

The Team behind Miss BimboAt the Glasshouse event in London, organized around games, The NextWomen met the guys behind a game called... Miss Bimbo. This is what it is all about:

'Miss Bimbo is a game where you look after a Bimbo character as she goes through life. To progress in the game you have to get her a hot boyfriend, a cool place to live, and find her a great job.'
Time for a speedy interview about business with Nicolas Jacquart of Blouzar (interactive entertainment) ltd.

So 5 guys inventing fashion games.. How come? When and how did you start?
We came with the idea of Miss Bimbo after playing few online games there wasn't many games for girls at that time (4 years ago), so we decide to go for fashion since most of the girls love clothes and bimbo to bring some fun and have a full story around the character.

How did you form your team? Any women in the team?
The founders are indeed 5 guys, Nicolas, Chris, Pjotr, Joey and Charles. However, the team changed a lot from the start in France but of course we got some women at some key positions like developers, support our community manager in charge of our 15 moderators.

How did you fund it, with how much money, and what is the business model?
We found it with our own money, so very little at the start. The business model is Micro-payment, you don't have to pay to play the full game.

What makes you different from other players in your sector?
Comparing to other fashion games I think our clothes are more fashionable and our character doesn't look like a top model but more a normal nice girl that everyone could identify to.

There has been controversy around Miss Bimbo; parents and educators found your game potentially harmful for children. You feel that your company has some social mission? Or that it needs to have that?
We have social mission like everyone else and beside what the media said about us I'm convinced that we do a good job at it.

Have you changed things in the game after the controversy?
After the controversy we removed the diet pills from the game, we had to admit it wasn't a good idea but for the other controversial thing we decide to keep them, journalist just focused on very little part of the game and totally ignored the good part of the game.

The funny thing about it is many people went to Miss Bimbo after the controversy thinking it's a terrible website and realised it's like what they say in the press and actually a lot of them still playing now.

And the average age on Miss Bimbo is 19 years old, our players can make the difference between a game and reality, when you talk to our community you will see that they don't want to be bimbos in real life like Paris Hilton or Katie Price but enjoy to have fun on Miss Bimbo.

Where are you now with the company?
We are at the moment developing other games (more fashion game, baby game,..) and we are also working on a Facebook version of Miss Bimbo.

What was your biggest challenge during the development process and how can other start-ups learn from that?
During the developing process you need to keep in mind what your target audience is and what they would like and not only focus on monetisation.

Are you profitable?
Yes we are ;)

Where is the company in 1 year?
We should have a bigger community and more games but overall we are going to keep the same direction.
