Female Entrepreneur in the The Pitch'09 Grand Final during Global Entrepreneurship Week

During Global Entrepreneurship Week, The Pitch'09 grand final will take place in London. Shadow minister for small business Mark Prisk is confirmed as keynote speaker, as well as Karen Darby of Call Brittania.

Following the conclusion of the wildcard competition, which saw over 10,000 votes from the public in just a matter of weeks,  Jennifer Twigg, founder of Lily Pins, a hairdressing service that visits care homes for the elderly, has been added to the finalists

Other finalists are:


  • Kenneth Cheung, Managing Director of BEEcycle
  • David Webb and David Wright, co-founders of Super Mouth, the producer of Vibe Gum
  • Tom Warrender, Founder of Get Set Schools
  • Anthony Lau, Founder of Cyclehoop
  • Craig Smith, Founder of The Printed Bag Shop

The five finalists will have to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges including former TV Dragon Doug Richard and The Apprentice winner Tim Campbell in front of a live audience.  The overall winner will walk away with £50,000 worth of business support services, not to mention the title of Britain’s Best Pitch 2009.

The day, during which The NextWomen will be manning a stand, will also involve a number of seminars and presentations from successful entrepreneurs and business experts.
