Searching the Web for Female Investors: The Pitch of SacredLove.com

Karinna Kittles, CEO of Sacred LoveKarinna Kittles-Karsten is looking for a female investor to finance the fall launch of her new Sacred Love site, a web 2.0 platform for singles and couples.  Ideally, she is seeking a strategic internet investor(s) for the launch.

I would like to have an investor that could appreciate a female run company in the space of on-line dating/social network/ digital media/new mobile technology.

This is her Pitch:

What is the problem you are solving?

SacredLove.com is answering needs in the on-line dating and relationship enhancement sectors that have never been answered which is how to keep a love life exciting and thriving before, during and after you meet the right partner.

What is your marketable solution?

SacredLove.com is answering this need by launching an empowered relationship membership site providing a lifetime service for singles and couples. Instead of fulfilling an often one time need such as finding the right partner, SacredLove.com will meet your needs at any stage of your love life. We do this by offering unique on-line premiere services including on-line dating/a couples interactive platform/digital media resources/and inspiring web tv all focused on supporting our members to create a more meaningful relationship.

What is your competitive advantage compared with others?

No other site in the market place brings together on-line dating, social networking and relationship enhancing media to support your love life.

Are you pre-product, pre-turnover, pre-profit? What is the current status of your business? Team, Technology?

We are currently in the new site programming phase with a launch planned for later this fall. We are pre-profit.  I work with a virtual team of 11 members including positions in backend websupport, production development, on-line strategic marketing, legal counsel, accounting, and business development consultants and providers to execute and grow the SLI business platform.

How much funding are you looking for? With how much capital have you started?

I am looking for 1.5 million dollars. I have funded the company (with help from friends and family) with over 200,000 dollars.

Why a female investor? Isn't that the most difficult route?

I do not see this as a difficult route. Having a female investor would be a wonderful opportunity.  I personally believe that empowering other women is incredibly gratifying. I support an organization called Women for Women and it has been a passion of mine to support women to come into their own, becoming leaders in their communities and in the world.  I feel that a female investor would appreciate both the values and goals of SacredLove.com and the success strategies of the business model. I also feel that a female investor would find supporting a female run business very satisfying.

Do you consider pitching as a women led company an advantage/disadvantage?

There are always two sides to this answer. Overall I see it as an advantage, though big business has historically been predominately male and, still today, we see too few women seeking out capital to grow their businesses. The advantage is that if our business model is innovative and compelling when we do seek out capital, we stand out.

What do you need from an investor apart from $$$?

Ideally I would like a strategic investor or investors, whom have had success on the internet, and understand the dynamic and fertile opportunity for SacredLove.com and would be willing to offer business advice and support.

Where have you been for funding til now?

I have spoken to several VC firms (all run by men) which have had a very positive response to the model.

Can you show us the new website?

I would be happy to send you a screenshot for your eyes only but at this time I want to hold off on providing a screenshot for the profile as I am keeping the design under wraps except for very serious investors.

Thank you for this opportunity!
