Holland, the Testing Garden for International Media Developments, launches Media Hub

Media CongresChange in the media landscape was a hot topic at the yearly Dutch Media Conference, of which The NextWomen was a media sponsor. The overview of economic and digital developments had a central question: what does the new media industry in 2015 look like? And what is the role of the Netherlands in the international market?

On the last question State Secretary Heemskerk came on stage to introduce a government sponsored program called: Dutch Media Hub with the words:

Holland is the Test Garden of Worldwide Media Developments

As the creative industries are bringing in more business into Holland than the traditional industries, The Dutch Media Hub aims to stimulate the creative industries, by bundling the rich variety of Dutch creative, media and facility companies. As we understand, the partners will attempt to attract companies to Amsterdam, by pointing out to the high Internet penetration, the enormous use of social media and the availability of so many digital service providers in The Netherlands.  Also, there are excellent international fiber connections and Amsterdam hosts the largest Internet exchange of the world: the AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange). The ultimate goal is then to becoming the Digital Gateway to Europe.

Anyone who wants to participate in the HUB program is still welcome.
