TheNextWomen launches Female Heroes database
As 1678 bloggers across the world will be honouring Ada Lovelace, the world's first female computer programmer, by writing about women in technology, we have taken the opportunity to make our database of female internet heroes available online.
Our list features hundreds of women and companies that operate in the online world. So find your founders, leaders and investors in there.
As we intend to map all the women in the online world, we will be adding names as we go along. So if you are or know a female internet hero that deserves a place on our list, feel free to let us know!
About Ada Lovelace Day:
It is an international day of blogging to draw attention to women excelling in technology. The organiser of it felt women’s contributions to technology often go unacknowledged and asked bloggers to tell the world about these unsung heroines.
If Ada Lovelace Day is a success the organiser likes to make it an annual event with a view to eventually putting together a one day conference called Finding Ada. It would cover presentation skills and would introduce women to tech conference organisers, with the aim of getting more women up on stage at tech conferences.
