Women Bloggers in the Prize Picture at the Weblog Awards

Many women bloggers received awards, this year at the Weblog Awards, aka "The Bloggies," where the web's best blogs are honored, as was just published by Wired. Now in their ninth year, the top prize for 2009's edition, Weblog of the Year, was handed out to blogger and photographer Ree Drummond for her site, Confessions of a Pioneer Woman. She also received prizes for Best-Designed Weblog and Best Photography of a Weblog.
Weblogger of the Year: Ree Drummond The blog launched in May 2006, and discusses 'the daily life cooking, gardening and raising livestock on the cattle ranch, and family life with husband and four kids'. The stickiness of the site comes from expert photography, recipes, gardening tips and DIY tips.

Where there are winners, there are also parties who lost out: Ariane Huffington of The Huffington Post lost out as the Blog of the year, and also on political blog Five ThirtyEight. And Blogher could not win from I Can Has Cheezburger?

Best Computer or Technology Weblog: Lifehacker which outdid Mashable.
