Pitching for it

Last December 10 businesses pitched their businesses in a pitch workshop hosted by Techcrunch and UK trade & investment. Here are some of the main points of advice covered there which any  startup may keep in mind when going in for  a pitch:

The Elevator Picth: 90 seconds 1. Define your value proposition; what gap or problem have you identified and how will you solve this, who are you and why would anyone 'believe' in you?

2. State your call to action; what is it that you want?

3. Think about communicating this in less than 90 seconds to a room with an 150+ strong audience, and an X-Factor style panel.

In the case it was the UK editor of TechCrunch Mike Butcher and Colette Ballou of Ballou PR, Andrew Scott from Rummble, Stephan Uhrenbacher from Qype and Madhuban Kumar from Ereni Partners.
In 2009 you will have the chance to put these tips into practice as TechCrunch UK will continue to work with UK Trade & Investment to deliver educational workshops to startups. Each workshop will be open to up to 10 startups.
