Honouring Tech Women: The Ada Lovelace Day Pledge

Ada ByronSuw Charman-Anderson, blogger at the technology website girlygeekdom, is looking for 1000 people to sign a pledge to publish a blog post on Tuesday 24th March 2009 about an admired woman in technology.  Honouring  Ada Byron - countess of Lovelace, who performed ground breaking work on the world's first computer program - the day aims to provide successful role models whilst drawing attention to the huge numbers of women working in technology.

Spurned from the research of Psychologist Penelope Lockwood - who found women more than men to need positive female role models - it has been designed to celebrate the achievements of all who are experiencing success be them sys admins, tech entrepreneurs, programmers, designers or tech journalists.

If you have an established blog or have been thinking about starting one for a while, add your name to the pledge, the date to your diary and get working on a post to highlight someone who you feel is excelling in technology.
