Vatican discovers IPhones

The Vatican goes for the iphoneDaily Prayers can be accessed on your iphone now that the Vatican has discovered that the technology is a great tool to spread its message. The Social Communications Council of the Vatican is promoting the iBreviary, an iTunes application that allows you to browse a number of prayers on your Iphone. The Breviary Prayer book, the prayers of Daily Mass and various others can be accessed in Italian, English, Spanish, French and Latin.

The man behind the application is the technology developer and Italian Reverend, Paolo Padrini.The application was initially for free during a successful trial period, as 10.000 Italians downloaded it. An official version was released last month.
Pope Benedict XVI has been using technology and new media to reach out to young people, an example being the World Youth Day in Sydney last year in which he sent textmessages to young people attending the event.
