This week sees the start of PICNIC '08. The PICNIC Conference is a high-level plenary meeting of bright, creative minds. The world's best media entrepreneurs, thinkers and creators share their stories with 1,000 delegates from all over the world. PICNIC's program director and female internet hero Monique Dusseldorp has put together both the PICNIC Conference as well as the PICNIC Specials and the PICNIC Labs. The main theme of PICNIC'08 is Collaborative Creativity in its many guises.

Female speakers at PICNIC include Gisel Hiscock of Google, Genevieve Bell Director of Intel Corporation, Eileen Gittens of Blurb, Hellen Omwando of Philips, and Kara Swisher of All Things Digital. Thenextwomen are holding their special events on Thursday September 25, 2008. After an early thenextwomenbreakfast follows the thenextwomen brainstormcamp.
Three insightful presentations will be followed by three starting entrepreneurs presenting their business ideas. Participants will then work together to provide feedback on a business model, name, product, website and marketing, sales and community plan. At the end of the session, the panel will decide on the viability, originality and marketability of the business idea. The best business plan will have the opportunity to be further developed after PICNIC.
