Internet a hit for hiring assasins

hitmanSome internet business is just not allowed This week, a bizarre court case showing one of the odder spin-offs of the internet, illustrated this point.    Divorcee Sharon Collins was found guilty of plotting to murder her multi-millionaire husband and his two sons through the hiring of an "assassin" on a website called www.Hitman.us.com.

Sharon Collins, who denied operating on the site under the nickname 'lyingeyes98', was convicted of conspiracy to murder her partner, property tycoon PJ Howard and his two sons.

Collins hired Las Vegas poker dealer Essam Eid from the internetsite hitman.us.com to poison her husband and his sons. But the plan fell through when Essam tried to convince one of Howards sons to give him € 100.000 by telling him there was a contract on his life, which he could avoid if he paid .

The jury found Las Vegas poker dealer Essam Eid guilty of demanding money with menace from Robert Howard and of handling stolen goods.

This court case is not an isolated incident, in April of this year a Michigan woman pleaded guilty to using bulletin board site Craiglist to try to hire a hit man to kill the wife of a man with whom she had had an affair. Ann Marie Linscott was arrested after allegedly posting an ad for a "freelance" job, offering $5,000 to "eradicate a female living in Oroville, California."
